چکیده

Alternating-time Temporal Logic (ATL∗) is a central logic for multiagent systems. Its extension to the imperfect information setting (ATLi ) is well known to have an undecidable model-checking problem when agents have perfect recall. Studies have thus mostly focused either on agents without memory, or on alternative semantics to retrieve decidability. In this work we establish new decidability results for agents with perfect recall: We first prove a meta-theorem that allows the transfer of decidability results for classes of multiplayer games with imperfect information, such as games with hierarchical observation, to the model-checking problem for ATLi . We then establish that model checking ATL∗ with strategy context and imperfect information is decidable when restricted to hierarchical instances.

Model-checking ATL under Imperfect Information and Perfect Recall Semantics is Undecidable

We propose a formal proof of the undecidability of the model checking problem for alternatingtime temporal logic under imperfect information and perfect recall semantics. This problem was announced to be undecidable according to a personal communication on multi-player games with imperfect information, but no formal proof was ever published. Our proof is based on a direct reduction from the non...

ATL* With Truly Perfect Recall: Expressivity and Validities

In alternating-time temporal logic ATL, agents with perfect recall assign choices to sequences of states, i.e., to possible finite histories of the game. However, when a nested strategic modality is interpreted, the new strategy does not take into account the previous sequence of events. It is as if agents collect their observations in the nested game again from scratch, thus effectively forget...

Alternating-time logic with imperfect recall

We study here a variant of the alternating-time temporal logic (ATL) where each agent has a given memory. We show that it is an interesting compromise, rather realistic but with a reasonable complexity. In contrast, most models with perfect recall and imperfect information have an undecidable model-checking problem.

Model-Checking an Alternating-time Temporal Logic with Knowledge, Imperfect Information, Perfect Recall and Communicating Coalitions

We present a variant of ATL with distributed knowledge operators based on a synchronous and perfect recall semantics. The coalition modalities in this logic are based on partial observation of the full history, and incorporate a form of cooperation between members of the coalition in which agents issue their actions based on the distributed knowledge, for that coalition, of the system history. ...

Model-Checking Alternating-Time Temporal Logic with Strategies Based on Common Knowledge is Undecidable

We present a semantics for the Alternating-time Temporal Logic (ATL) with imperfect information, in which the participants in a coalition choose their strategies such that each agent’s choice is the same in all states that form the common knowledge for the coaltion. We show that ATL with this semantics has an undecidable model-checking problem if the semantics is also synchronous and the agents...
